There may be foundation cracks, but most of the time they may be of no consequence, and it is not up to the broker to determine the cause of such crack.
A qualified foundation specialist should be consulted by the owner and the broker should avoid coaching the owner on the way to hide a possible defect by making an aesthetic but temporary repair. If the dammages were to reappear, the broker could be accused of trying to help the client in hiding a defect.
The qualified person or inspector work for the seller with a service agreement and do not work for the broker.
The inspection process is not a way to renegociate price or conditions of an offer to purchase as this could be interpreted as fraudulous. If you don't know, tell the truth, don't lie!
