New Mortgage Regulations




As of October 15, the Government of Canada has tightened the regulations for obtaining a mortgage, and it is no longer possible to obtain a mortgage with a 40-year amortization period or a mortgage with no down payment. Paul Cardinal, Market Analysis Manager at the Québec Federation of Real Estate Boards, presents these new regulations and explains why they’ve become stricter.
