Very stale sales pitch for leaving CREA. Some people consider Montreal a WORLD CLASS CITY. Leaving CREA would only drive another nail in the coffin to make Montreal a SMALL PROVINCIAL CLASS CITY, while cities like Toronto and Vancouver flourish in the world classification. If the city flourishes so does it's population. Let's move forward in our globalized economy, not retract in a small shell. Thinking small will only make you smaller... I believe that as a broker if I loose the right to use "Realtor" & "MLS", I've lost my identity... "Centris" could never replace these trademarks. If we leave CREA I am sure that other unforeseen issues and consequences will surface, and who will be blamed then? CREA?

In a communique received this morning the GMREB indicates that they will be asking me for an 'opinion' as to whether I wish to leave CREA, not that I agree or not to leave.
La Chambre immobilière du Grand Montréal (CIGM) désire connaître votre opinion quant à son adhésion à l’Association canadienne de l’immeuble (ACI).
The Greater Montréal Real Estate Board (GMREB) wants to know your opinion regarding its membership with The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).
I also receive a communique from Laura Leyser president of CREA telling me I will be voting on whether to remain a member of CREA??
'This week you will be voting on whether to remain members of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).'
These are two very different Q's, I'm sure you agree. Would it not be better to agree on whether this is strictly an 'Opinion' or 'A vote to leave?
Lastly, while you state you will be taking a decision based on a vote that asks members opinion, this is not the same as taking a decision based on whether the member has voted to leave or stay with CREA.
A decision based on this type of Q is not democratic. It needs to be a clear YES or NO to staying in CREA. I believe the board to be playing politics and your statements are simply playing with words.
Good luck to everyone who elected this board of directors.
